Meryl Alappattu, PT, DPT, PhD graduated a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Florida in 2008. She completed a year-long clinical residency at University of Florida Health in Cancer Rehabilitation in 2009. She completed her PhD in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Florida in 2014, studying mechanisms of pelvic pain in women and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Pain Research and Intervention Center of Excellence (PRICE) at the University of Florida. Dr. Alappattu serves Director of Research for the APTA Section on Women’s Health. Her research investigates the mechanisms underlying pelvic floor conditions, including pain and incontinence and she is a nationally and internationally recognized for her scientific and professional contributions to these areas.
